West Ham United are interested in signing goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who is leaving Sheffield United this summer, on a free transfer this summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Foderingham regained his place in the Sheffield United starting eleven towards the end of the season and started the Blades’ last five Premier League games.

However, Sheffield United decided against offering him a new contract and he will be leaving the club on a free transfer when his deal expires at the end of June.

His agent is now looking for a new club and could be thrown a Premier League lifeline in the summer.

It has been claimed that West Ham are showing a serious interest in signing the former Rangers goalkeeper on a free transfer.

The Hammers already have Alphonso Areola and Lukasz Fabianski, but are keen to add more depth.

They are looking at Foderingham as an experienced goalkeeper who is available on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old would likely have to agree to be third choice goalkeeper if he wants to join West Ham this summer, with 39-year-old Fabianski and 31-year-old Areola ahead of him.
