Training to resume at the start of July – first friendly in Verden

Werder will begin their preparations for the 2025/26 season at the start of July, with Ole Werner leading the first training session of pre-season on 7th July. The first friendly will take place five days later, away against FC Verden 04. The Green-Whites then play away against Kickers Emden a week later.

The Werder players have now started their well-earned summer break. The likes of Weiser, Stark and Agu will have until the start of July to recharge their batteries before pre-season starts. The players will report back to Bremen on 5th and 6th July for medical and performance tests. The first training session ahead of the 2025/26 season is scheduled for 7th July at 15:00 CEST and is open to the fans.

The first friendly is set for 12th July against FC Verden 04 (15:30 CEST). “A friendly in Verden is almost like a tradition now. There will be a number of activities on offer to go along with the game, and the players will wear the new kit for the first time, as they did there last year,” commented Clemens Fritz.

The second friendly will take place a week later at fourth-division side Kickers Emden on Saturday, 19th July (15:30 CEST) at the Ostfriesland-Stadion.

Werder will then head to Austria two days after that for their 14th training camp in Zillertal. The Green-Whites will be based in Zell Gerlos from 22nd to 31st July, enjoying all the amenities of the team hotel 'ZillerSeasons DasPosthotel' and training on SK Zell am Ziller’s excellent pitches. Two friendlies are also planned for during the training camp – more information will be announced in the coming weeks.
