Match report following friendly against OSC Bremerhaven

SV Werder’s final post-season friendly against OSC Bremerhaven ended in a 4-1 win for the Green-Whites.

First-half highlights:

2nd minute: The first chance of the game falls to OSC, as Hofmann lays it off for Felipa. His shot sails narrowly past the post.

14th minute: Zetterer is on the hunt for his next goal. Bittencourt cuts the ball into the middle where the goalkeeper has to slid to meet it, but he’s just a second too late.

16th minute: Njinmah takes aim on the turn, but his shot hits the crossbar.

19th minute: Once again, it’s Hofmann who’s able to make his way down the right flank before laying it off for Schlake. His shot goes over the bar.

24th minute: Bittencourt attempts to place a shot into the top corner from 20 metres out, but it only grazes the woodwork.

29th minute: Njinmah back heels the ball to Zetterer, but he places his shot just past the post.

31st minute: Werder take the lead! Bittencourt scuffs his shot a bit, but it allows Malatini to get on the end of it. The defender is able to tap in to make it 1-0.

35th minute: Koch sends a shot crashing off the bar.

40th minute: Following a foul against Topp, Zetterer steps up to take it, but his attempt is saved by the Bremerhaven keeper.

43rd minute: Werder celebrate their second goal of the afternoon as Njinmah slots home following Zetterer’s assist!

44th minute: OSC get one back. Substitute Ley cuts the deficit to 2-1.

Opitz nearly bags a brace

Second-half highlights:

52nd minute: 3-1 Werder! Kasper nets our third.

53rd minute: A well-timed pass sends Opitz through, who doesn’t hesitate before placing the ball in at the second post. 4-1 to Werder!

65th minute: Asante drives down the wing before laying it off for Kasper on the edge of the box. His shot is cleared, with Werder unable to make much of the resulting corner.

74th minute: Opitz manages to put the ball in the back of the net, but the lineman’s flag is up.

81st minute: Marafona da Costa takes aim with an artistic bicycle kick, but his attempt sails over the crossbar.
