Lifelong Newcastle United fan Jacob Murphy is living the dream.
Monday night seeing United make it four wins in a row.
Nine points from the last three Premier League matches making United one of the favourites for Champions League qualification, whilst the other victory in this sequence was the Wembley triumph over Liverpool.
Jacob Murphy posting some astonish stats, starting 23 Premier League matches so far (plus four sub appearances), the two goals against Leicester on Monday night now makes it 16 Premier League direct goal involvements, scoring seven and nine assists.
Whilst following that League Cup trophy win at Wembley, Jacob Murphy declaring about it; “We want to keep striving for better and taste it again.”
The Newcastle United fan (pictured above with twin brother Josh) played a key role in that League Cup silverware as well. Getting an assist for the first goal in the 2-0 first leg semi-final win at Arsenal, then scoring the first goal in the 2-0 at SJP against the Gunners in the second leg. Before then in the final, Murphy with the headed assist for Alexander Isak to score the winner against Liverpool.
So in all competitions, despite only 27 starts this season, already 19 direct goal involvements, scoring eight and 11 assists, for Jacob Murphy.

“I think that the message going into it, was to get a quick start.
“Knowing that if we got a quick start, could their fans turn on them?
“That plays into our hands.
“We got off to that quick start with some goals which was good.”
Jacob Murphy on his first goal inside two minutes, from Tino Livramento’s low cross:
“We always talk about box occupation – can we flood the box?
“You can see how many players we had in the box and it makes it difficult to defend.
“I saw it really late but got my foot on it.”
Jacob Murphy on his and Newcastle’s second goal after Fabian Schar’s long-range effort came back off the bar:
“It was a bit scary when it came back, because I wasn’t sure about first time finish, or to control it.
“By the time I controlled it about seven times, I managed to sort my feet out and score!”
Jacob Murphy on his personal form:
“I’m exactly where I need to be, at the back post tapping it in.
“It is always nice to hear numbers, to score, I love assisting.
“If I can add value every game then regardless of the numbers, I will always be content.”
Jacob Murphy on the buzz at Newcastle United:
“It has been unbelievable.
“The bus parade was out of this world, such a great day.
“You can see why the greats get addicted to winning trophies, the feeling it gives you.
“Now we’re back training, you want that again next season.
“We want to keep striving for better and taste it again.”
Jacob Murphy on potential Champions League qualification:
“It is hugely important for us.
“We can see other English teams doing really well, we have had a taste of it last season.
“We have got eight games to go now, no other distractions.
“I think that we can really put a challenge up to the teams around us, one game it can all change, so we need to keep the pressure on.”
