Erik ten Hag has denied that Manchester United are open to selling the majority of their squad this summer.

Various reports have suggested that United would be open to letting many of their senior first-team players leave this summer while wanting to keep their young stars such as Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

But ten Hag has denied that the club are looking to sell virtually all of their current squad.

He said: “It is a joke. As long as I’ve worked here, every window, it’s said 200 players get an interest from Man Utd. We did some research. It is untrue.

“And every summer it is said we sell all the players in our squad. You make all the headlines, which is untrue.

“I think be calm but also take some responsibility when you make such a headline. Find a good source and if there is some truth in it.

“This is totally crap!”

The United boss also says Jadon Sancho’s performance in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 Champions League semi-final win over PSG proved why Manchester United signed him.

The 24-year-old joined his former club Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season in January after publicly falling out with United boss ten Hag.

And ten Hag praised the winger for his role in Dortmund’s first-leg victory but admits his future is still unclear.

“Yesterday he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed he represents a high value for Manchester United, which is good,” ten Hag said.

“I’m happy for Jadon, for the performance yesterday and we’ll see what is going to happen in the future.”

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are all doubts to face Crystal Palace on Monday.
