Chelsea have rattled in two second half goals in Warsaw to kill the game and potentially the tie.

After a slow and sluggish first half, Enzo Maresca made second half changes which put his team back on the front foot. Noni Madueke came on and has scored twice to put the game to bed.

The first saw him picked out by Jadon Sancho in the Legia box. His first touch wasn’t great, but he kept composed and calmly finished the chance.

The second one was a poacher’s finish as Madueke ghosted in behind a static defence to tap in from close range. It was another Sancho assist, and some really clever attacking play from Madueke to wait until the defenders were static before making his move.

Madueke’s return to form and fitness comes at perfect moment for Chelsea’s season

While Madueke was out, we kept writing about how much the team was missing his willingness to shoot and play directly. Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho have a lot of qualities, but goalscoring aren’t among them. Madueke is frustrating in other ways – but he’s not afraid to shoot.

He’s not a perfect player – and indeed there are plenty of rumours that Chelsea are looking to sell him on this summer – but you can’t deny that he’s got an eye for goal (especially compared to our other wide attacking options) and today he demonstrated a perfect example of that with these two goals.

He may well leave this summer – there’s still plenty of time left in this season to play a huge role in whatever this team achieves.
