Mats Hummels is enthusiastically embracing this new chapter in his long-standing career.

Yesterday at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund the farewell football match of Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski took place and among the invited players there was also former teammate Mats Hummels.

After arriving at the stadium on a scooter, the new Roma defender met numerous friends including Nuri Sahin, current coach of Borussia Dortmund.

The two became protagonists of a filmed exchange in the locker room, with the former Turkish footballer greeting the Giallorossi centre-back in Italian: “Ciao, come stai? (Hi, how are you?)”.

Mats, a few days after arriving in Italy, showed off his knowledge by replying in the same language: “Ciao bello. Sono un po’ stanco ma sto bene. (Hi, man. I’m a little tired but I’m doing fine.)”
