Nigeria international has enjoyed a fruitful spell in Turkey
Joe Cole says Victor Osimhen would be a “perfect” signing for Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal are expected to sign an out-and-out striker when the transfer window reopens and a number of names have been linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium.
Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is regarded as a dream signing for many supporters as well as manager Mikel Arteta.
However, the Carabao Cup winners are in a strong position and amid reports last year suggested they will set an asking price in excess of £100million, it could be too expensive of a deal for the the north London outfit to complete.
Speaking on The Dressing Room Podcast, Cole has cast doubt over Isak being a realistic option for the Gunners this summer and believes Osimhen is the ideal alternative.
“Osimhen, I know he’s had this little strange one where he’s gone to Turkey and he’s banging in goals,” the former Chelsea midfielder stated.
“But he looks perfect for Arsenal for me.
“Isak yeah, but why would he go to Arsenal now? If Newcastle could spend more, I can’t see Isak being an option, Osimhen is the one for me for Arsenal.”
Osimhen is spending the season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and netted his 29th goal of the campaign in a 2-0 win over Samsunspor on Friday evening.
The Nigeria international sees his contract with his parent club expire in the summer of 2026 so is expected to secure a permanent at the end of the current season with reports claiming £55m will be enough to secure his signature.

With that said, Viktor Gyokeres is understood to be top of Arsenal’s new sporting director Andrea Berta's wishlist for the striker position.
Furthermore, amid reports in Portugal last weekend claiming the striker had agreed to a summer switch, Sporting CP boss Rui Borges has suggested the Swede will be on the move in the near future.
“Viktor is a player... I think there are no words: it is unlikely that another player of his quality will emerge in our league over the next few years," Borges told reporters. "He is clearly above average.
"The collective effort also plays a role, as no one can succeed alone. Viktor is a game-changer, and he will continue to be, whether with us or elsewhere. His quality is undeniable; it is phenomenal."
