Bayern Munich find themselves in tenth place in the UEFA Champions League table after claiming a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on matchday six.
Inspired by sublime performances from Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise, Bayern Munich kept their impressive run of form going on Tuesday evening as they enjoyed a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk. Despite the result, the Bavarians have some work to do if they want to finish in the top eight and earn an automatic spot in the round of 16.
Bayern are only one point shy of eighth placed LOSC Lille, with two matchdays left in the league phase of the Champions League. Next up for Vincent Kompany's side is a trip to Feyenoord. Bayern will then wrap up their league phase campaign with a home game against Slovan Bratislava.
Liverpool lead the UEFA Champions League table with six wins from their opening six matches. Bayer Leverkusen are also well placed to qualify for the round of 16, but are just one point clear of Bayern in fourth place. Last season's finalists Borussia Dortmund are level on points with Die Roten.
Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, are in danger of being eliminated from the Champions League at the league phase stage. The French giants are currently 25th in the table but will fancy their chances of climbing up the charts over the next two matchdays.
Other underperforming big teams at the moment include Manchester City in 22nd and Real Madrid in 20th place. Juventus, Atalanta, and AC Milan are also in the 9-24th places, so Bayern will no doubt look to avoid the playoffs and earn a direct place in the round of 16.
