Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to sign Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson before the end of the summer transfer window if Richarlison leaves, according to Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs are looking to bolster their attack at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club after Son Heung-Min left, and are open to offers for Brazilian forward Richarlison.
However, he is keen to stay and fight for his place in the plans of head coach Thomas Frank, which could stop them from moving for the Chelsea star.
Jackson has a price tag of around £80 million, and his suitors have been unwilling to match it.
Newcastle United have also registered interest in the Senegal international, but remaining in London could appeal to him, which would give Tottenham a chance of signing him.
Spurs have been forced to reconsider their attacking plans for this summer after James Maddison suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
Frank may look to bolster his options in the final third with the England international set to be out for several months.
Richarlison has 24 more months to run on his current contract, and the North Londoners know this summer is their last chance to recoup some of the £50m they paid Everton to bring him to the club in July 2022.
The 28-year-old has missed 58 games for the Lilywhites since his arrival, with problems like calf injury, groin injury, hamstring and knee problems constantly beleaguering him.
Jackson could prove to be an upgrade as he has featured in 81 games since joining the Blues in 2023, weighing in with 30 goals and 12 assists.
Frank got the best out of the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa at Brentford and would fancy his chances of turning the Chelsea striker into a better finisher should a deal work out in the coming weeks.
