Newcastle United fans still waiting on the official announcement that Nick Woltemade is a Newcastle United player.
Things having moved very fast on Thursday night when out of the blue, it was reported across the media that Stuttgart had agreed a transfer fee with United.
Within hours, Nick Woltemade was shown in footage online checking into a Newcastle hotel on the quayside.
His medical scheduled for Friday morning but now seemingly any chance of the new striker featuring at Elland Road appears to have gone.
The Nick Woltemade signing would have had to be registered by 12 noon on Friday at the very latest, to be eligible to play for Newcastle United. Nothing announced on that front and not Eddie Howe’s style to throw anybody straight in anyway without some integration with the rest of the NUFC squad.
So once the signing is confirmed, when will Newcastle United fans get their first sighting of Nick Woltemade.
In a Newcastle shirt, that would appear to be in 15 days time, Newcastle v Wolves is a 3pm kick-off at St James’ Park on Saturday 13 September 2025.
However, ahead of that, United fans are set to be able to watch Nick Woltemade from a distance.
Julian Nagelsmann named the (soon to be) Newcastle United striker in the Germany squad for their September World Cup group qualifiers.
Germany are in a four-team group with Slovakia, Northern Ireland, and Luxembourg to guarantee qualification for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The winners of the group automatically qualify for the finals, whilst the runners-up go into the play-offs.
Germany are already guaranteed at least a play-off spot due to their performances in the Nations League.
Nick Woltemade made his debut for Germany in the Nations League semi-final defeat to Portugal in June. The striker played the first 60 minutes and was subbed off with Germany leading 1-0, only to lose 2-1 after he left the pitch.
Newcastle United fans look set to see via TV/online Nick Woltemade make his third and probably fourth appearance for Germany.
The likes of Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz and Tim Kleindienst are all injured.
With the Germany squad (see below) containing only two strikers, Nick Woltemade and 32 year old Niclas Fullkrug who plays for West Ham.
Germany face Slovakia in Bratislava on Thursday 4 September, before then playing Northern Ireland in Cologne on Sunday 7 September.
If Nick Woltemade doesn’t start one or both of these World Cup qualifiers, he will surely make a sub appearance in one or both.
