Marc-Andre ter Stegen is currently the hottest topic in Barcelona right now, with the goalkeeper currently in an open war with the club.
Recent drama surrounding ter Stegen refusing to sign the consent that Barcelona need to share his medical report with La Liga has led to their relationship hitting rock bottom.
The club are now considering stripping Ter Stegen of captaincy, though that hasn’t happened yet. And keeping that in mind, if nothing changes, ter Stegen might be present this weekend to give a speech to fans.
Indeed, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo suggests Ter Stegen, in principle, will be the one giving the speech to Barcelona fans in the lead-up to their Joan Gamper trophy match against Como this Sunday.
The Joan Gamper Trophy this year is going to be held at Johan Cruyff Stadium on account of Camp Nou not receiving the permit to host the game.

It is, therefore, at Johan Cruyff Stadium where Ter Stegen is expected to be present this Sunday and give a speech to all the fans.
With this game serving as the last essential friendly before the season starts, captains giving speeches has been a traditional affair at Barcelona.
However, the idea of Ter Stegen giving a speech is bound to get awkward given the fact that the player and the club, and in extension, the fans, are not on good terms right now.
Earlier in the summer, fans played a key role in pushing for Ter Stegen’s exit, which had even left the German disappointed.
Therefore, not many are expected to enjoy Ter Stegen giving a speech ahead of a season where he is expected to sit out on the bench if he doesn’t leave the club.
One way Barcelona can avoid this is to strip him of captaincy before this weekend, but the process can be arduous and requires a vote.
