The Sporting Director of Stuttgart has poured cold water on transfer links between Inter Milan and forward Nick Woltemade.
Stuttgart Sporting Director Alexander Wehrle spoke to Sky Sport, via FCInterNews. He claimed that the Bundesliga club are negotiating a new deal with Woltemede, and that they plan to keep him.
Inter Milan have reportedly made Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade a potential target this summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed something of a breakout campaign for Stuttgart this past season. He has made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring seventeen goals and making three assists.
And Inter are certainly aiming to strengthen in attack this summer. This after the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa left the club.
Inter are reportedly already on the verge of a deal to sign Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma. However, they may not be finished there.
The Nerazzurri are also targeting Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund. But as an alternative to the Dane, they have also shortlisted Woltemade.

However, signing a player like Woltemade would hardly be straightforward for Inter.
The Nerazzurri would have to pay a significant fee. Reportedly, Stuttgart want at least €40 million to sell the newly-minted German international.
Furthermore, there would be plenty of competition for Woltemede’s signature.
Then, Stuttgart may simply decide not to sell the 23-year-old.
And the club’s Sporting Director claimed that “we’re moving forward together with Nick next season. Period.”
And as far as a new contract for the German, he said that “there’s no reason to act right away.”
However, the director made clear that “we’re in constant dialogue with our players and their agents. Including Nick.”
