Manchester United target Victor Osimhen will not be allowed to return to training with his current club SSC Napoli.
Ruben Amorim’s side are desperate to bolster their attack and one striker they have been constantly linked to is Osimhen.
The Nigerian’s future is up in the air with Galatasaray, Juventus and a host of English clubs reportedly on his tail.
United are said to be in “the driving seat” for the forward but he has still not made a decision on his future.
It has also been reported that one of his most active pursuers, Galatasaray, set him a deadline of yesterday to commit himself to their project.
According to Turkish source Fotomac, his current boss at Napoli, Antonio Conte, will do his best to force a decision from the striker.
It is stated that Osimhen “is preparing to return to Napoli for pre-season training after his loan contract with the Turks ended.”
Nonetheless, Conte “will not allow Osimhen to train with the first team” when he returns as he is not seen as part of the long-term project of the club.
There has been contrasting information on whether waiting for a transfer would be positive or negative for chasing teams.
Some reports have suggested that his release clause of €75 million will drop later this month.
Nonetheless, others have claimed that his price will actually increase beyond the current asking price should he and interested parties continue to drag out a deal beyond mid-July.
United fans will be keen for the club to make a concrete move for their striker target in the next weeks. Osimhen would certainly be a strong candidate as he fired in 37 goals and eight assists last season in all competitions.
