Sky: Milan and Ibrahimovic made late attempt for Osimhen – the background | OneFootball

AC Milan did make a late attempt to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s reaction to the question last night basically confirmed it.

As Sky‘s Gianluca Di Marzio reports, the Rossoneri made an attempt for Osimhen when Napoli found themselves trying to offload the striker, and it was Ibrahimovic himself who took an active role in the negotiations.

Zlatan spoke to Sky before the first game of the Champions League campaign against Liverpool and after clarifying his role – or attempting to – Di Marzio questioned him on the subject of the mercato.

“It went exactly as we wanted, everything we looked for and was missing we got . The last one was Abraham, to provide an extra reinforcement in attack. It’s a shame for Jovic who is not in the Champions League list,” he said.

Ibra, however, preferred not to answer when asked about Osimhen, which is why he smiled but gave little away when Di Marzio questioned him about an attempt for the Nigerian: “I’ll keep quiet about this…”

As is known, the former Lille striker wanted to leave Napoli and they in turn struggled to find a club ready to buy him. Given the situation, Milan (with Ibrahimovic himself) tried to understand the feasibility of the operation to bring Osimhen to the Rossoneri  before he agreed a deal with Galatasaray.
