Contact is ongoing between Chelsea and RB Leipzig over a deal for Xavi Simons according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have strengthened their attack this summer with the signings of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.
Estevao Willian has also arrived after a deal was agreed worth up to £51.4m with Palmerias last summer, meaning there’s now four new attackers in the squad which finished last season.
However, Chelsea haven’t finished in the market when it comes to attackers, and they reportedly want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between in their squad next season.
Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are expected to follow Noni Madueke out the exit door, meaning there’s room for another attacker.

Chelsea have identified Leipzig star Simons as the player they want, and the 22-year-old can play both on the left and a number ten.
The Blues are close to agreeing personal terms with Simons, and the Dutch international has made it clear his preference is a move to the Premier League.
Leipzig are said to want around £60m for Simons, but Chelsea would reportedly like to pay less, and Romano has now provided an update.
“Contacts are ongoing between Chelsea and RB Leipzig, with separate conversations for Xavi Simons and Carney Chukwuemeka!, he told his YouTube channel.

“Personal terms between Simons and Chelsea are going very well. I think they can agree soon.”
Simons is currently training with Leipzig at their pre-season camp, and scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances last season.
Simons isn’t the only player Chelsea are looking to sign, and they are also working on a deal for his international team-mate Jorrel Hato.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Hato, and are prepared to pay £34m for the 19-year-old, but Ajax reportedly want more.
Hato would provide much needed back-up for Marc Cucurella, whilst he can also play at centre back, making him a great fit for Enzo Maresca’s system.
