AS Saint-Étienne are in desperate need of points as we enter the final three weeks of the season, the club are sat in the relegation zone with only a point separating them from Le Havre AC in the relegation playoff spot.
It was terrible timing for head coach Eirik Horneland that Lucas Stassin picked up an injury in the week leading up to tonight’s fixture against AS Monaco. The Belgium striker has been a bright light in a disappointing season, having scored 11 goals in the league since the turn of the year.
In his place, Horneland will likely turn to the 16-year-old Djylian N’Guessan to lead the line. The teenager has already made six appearances for the club. The head coach is also without Augustine Boakye and Benjamin Bouchouari, who also line the medical bay.
