Chelsea are believed to be sizing up a swoop for Alejandro Garnacho before the window closes in just over a month’s time.

Indeed, the Blues are ready to revive their interest in the Manchester United starlet after first holding talks with his representatives in January. Despite approaching Garnacho mid-season, Chelsea never went as far as submitting a bid like Napoli did; they had a £40 million offer rebuffed by United who, at that time, valued him in the region of £60m.

That could all be about to change in the coming weeks, however.

In the aftermath of their Club World Cup triumph, Chelsea were granted a whopping £85m for lifting the trophy out in the United States, whilst they’ve also raised significantly more funds through sanctioning the exits of Noni Madueke (Arsenal) and Joao Felix (Al Nassr) – amongst other players deemed surplus to requirements.

They have, in turn, brought in a host of attacking talents; Enzo Maresca has seen his frontline revitalised with the additions of Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and youngster Estevao – but there’s still room for more.

Having just ignited their pursuit of RB Leipzig starlet Xavi Simons, Fabrizio Romano has revealed the London outfit are likely to move for Garnacho once a deal for their first-choice target is signed and sealed.

What Romano is now hearing about Garnacho

“First step, go for Xavi Simons, negotiations [are] advanced with Leipzig, and then second step, consider Garnacho as an opportunity for the final weeks of the window. So that’s the plan for Chelsea,” confirmed Romano on his YouTube channel.

A potential obstacle that may arise, however, is that Chelsea reportedly only value the ‘game-changing’ 21-year-old at £30m.

When United put forth the idea of Garnacho signing for Chelsea and Nicolas Jackson being sent to Old Trafford in return, it was played down as an option due to the Blues setting an £80m asking price for their frontman.
