Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that one longstanding Manchester United target is preparing to embark on a new venture this summer.

With Bournemouth currently enjoying a scintillating campaign that could see them secure European qualification for the first time in their history, the board will inevitably face a battle to keep the players who’ve made such a feat possible.

Indeed, the likes of Dean Huijsen, Antoine Semenyo, Justin Kluivert and Milos Kerkez are just a few of the names attracting outside interest due to their stellar performances this term. Kerkez, in particular, has been a sought-after prospect for a while now.

The attack-minded full-back has previously found himself linked with United, primarily last summer when they were in the market for a suitable Luke Shaw successor.

They ultimately opted against a formal approach for the Hungarian international and instead welcomed defensive reinforcements in the forms of Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui. In the winter, INEOS granted Ruben Amorim the addition of Patrick Dorgu to cover for the loaned-out Tyrell Malacia, though depth at wing-back is still a necessity moving forward.

Whether United will revive their interest in Kerkez remains to be seen. If they do, they’re poised to face competition from arch-rivals Liverpool in the race this year.

“Milos Kerkez, expected to leave and try new chapter in the summer as reported in the recent months,” said Romano on X/Twitter this afternoon.

“Liverpool are among clubs tracking the left back who signed with Fali Ramadani as a new agent this year.”

Arne Slot’s side are scouring the market for a long-term replacement for the declining Andy Robertson, who’s proven to be a weak spot for the Anfield outfit in an otherwise hugely triumphant term.
