Aaron Ramsdale reached an individual milestone by leading Southampton in their previous home game. Though Jan Bednarek's injury prompted him to take the role, the former justified that responsibility and earned deserved recognition from the Brighton manager.

Losing a Premier League game by a margin of three goals reflects a wide quality gap between the competing teams. In Southampton's scenario, this result is an even bigger embarrassment as they were second best to Brighton in every department.

Thus, it can be safely assumed that every starting player was far from impressive, if not subpar against the visitors.

If any Southampton fan had given up any winning hope and left the game midway, they might have reached the same conclusion. While that's nearly true, there was one starter who didn't receive the collective backing to ensure a better outcome.

Without any doubt, that star performer is Aaron Ramsdale who again witnessed his top-notch efforts go in vain after the full-time whistle. Conceding four goals definitely wouldn't have pleased Ramsdale but at the same time, he must find positives from his solo outing.

Now, Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has given him a consolation prize in this regard.

Appreciating the Englishman, Hurzeler spoke to Sussex World: "I think Ramsdale had an outstanding performance. He made several really, really good saves and hopefully we keep this momentum and try to create chance by chance."

Talking about Southampton, they must be glad to prevent another potential 9-0 defeat due to the 26-year-old shot-stopper. Well, that can't be the situation every time as Ramsdale might be tempted to weigh up his career options once the present campaign concludes.

Hence, the bottom line remains that Southampton must find a winning Premier League way soon. Failing to do so, will draw them closer to relegation while documenting many undesired records in the process.
