Barcelona have received a significant boost in their La Liga title pursuit as they prepare for their away fixture against Las Palmas.

The home side will be without three key players—Andy Pelmard, Scott McKenna, and Fabio Silva—due to a mix of injuries and suspension (h/t FCB World), which could weaken their defensive and attacking options.

McKenna is set to miss the match after accumulating his fifth yellow card in the game against Mallorca. His absence will be a major blow for Las Palmas, as he has been one of their most consistent performers.

Manager Diego Martinez will have to find an alternative solution at the back, but replacing McKenna will not be straightforward, given his current form and importance to the squad.

Silva and Pelmard are injured

Fabio Silva, on the other hand, has been sidelined with a quadriceps injury sustained in training earlier this month. The club previously announced that he would be out for several weeks, missing key matches against Villarreal, Mallorca, and now Barcelona.

His expected return is pencilled in for the game against Valladolid on March 2. This means Las Palmas will be without one of their main attacking threats, which could make it harder for them to break down Barcelona’s defence.

Meanwhile, there is little clarity on Andy Pelmard’s situation. Reports indicate that he will not be available for selection against Barcelona, but no official update has been provided regarding the severity of his injury.

Nothing to worry about for Barcelona

For Barcelona, there are no unexpected injury concerns. The players set to miss out are those already known to be sidelined, including Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, and likely Andreas Christensen.

While these absences are not ideal, they do not significantly impact the team’s preparations. Manager Hansi Flick is expected to rotate his squad for this fixture, keeping in mind the crucial Copa del Rey clash against Atletico Madrid.

With several key players likely to be rested, Barcelona will aim to secure a comfortable win while maintaining freshness for the upcoming challenges.
