According to an update from SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona are not overly concerned about the registration of new signing Roony Bardghji ahead of the 2025/26 season.

This is because the club believe that if they are unable to officially register him with the first team, there is still a workable solution, which is to register him under a reserve team slot.

The 19-year-old Swedish winger arrived this summer with the aim of proving himself to Hansi Flick and securing a permanent role in the senior squad.

So far, he is making all the right impressions. His performances during pre-season have stood out, and the coaching staff, especially Flick, are pleased with what they’ve seen.

Roony’s dedication has also impressed people behind the scenes. He returned from the summer break in excellent physical shape, something rare for young players coming off holiday.

His condition on arrival turned heads, and it is clear he is serious about taking his opportunity at Barcelona.

While the club’s first intention is to register Roony with the senior team, they are prepared with a backup plan.

If there are any delays or obstacles with La Liga’s financial fair play regulations, he could be listed under a reserve team registration.

This way, he would remain eligible to feature for the first team while the club works through the formalities.

However, this comes with some uncertainty. There is a concern that La Liga may not accept the reserve team registration if Roony has not played a single minute in the Second RFEF.

This issue will need to be addressed quickly, as Barcelona face Mallorca in their league opener on the 16th of August.

For now, the club remains confident. Roony is seen as a valuable asset, and Barcelona are determined to keep him involved, regardless of which registration route is finalised in the coming days.
