Inter Milan reportedly wouldn’t consider offers below €35 million for midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.
This according to Turkish outlet Guerin Sportivo, via FCInterNews.
Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu stayed at Inter Milan this summer. He did so in spite of a lot of transfer rumours, though.
Galatasaray had reportedly been keen to sign the 31-year-old former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
However, the Gazzetta report that the Istanbul giants did not even make Inter an official offer.
A deal for Calhanoglu would simply have been out of reach financially for Galatasaray.
For one thing, the Turkish international was insisting on a wage increase from the €7.5 million net per season plus add-ons he earns at Inter. And he wanted at least a three-year deal.
Then, convincing Inter with an offer would have been no mean feat.

According to Guerin Sportivo, Inter wouldn’t have even considered offers below €35-40 million for Calhanoglu.
The Turkish international remains an important player for Inter.
Furthermore, the Nerazzurri would have to have signed a replacement. And that likely would have required an outlay of at least €50 million.
For example, Inter were targeting Ederson as a replacement for Calhanoglu, Guerin Sportivo note. And Atalanta would have wanted around €70 million for the Brazilian.
