Inter Milan will reportedly decide whether or not to sign a defender after their Serie A opener against Torino.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri will focus on a young player with significant room for improvement.
Inter Milan still have not signed a defender this summer.
Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij remain the two main options in the centre of Inter’s back three.
Meanwhile, on the left of the defense, Carlos Augusto is the primary backup for Alessandro Bastoni. However, the versatile Brazilian is also an important player at left-wingback after Nicola Zalewski’s sale to Atalanta.
Furthermore, Tuttosport report, Inter’s plans have not changed regarding Tomas Palacios. They want to offload the Argentine before the transfer window slams shut.

According to Tuttosport, Inter have still not decided whether or not to invest in a defender in the last week or so of the summer transfer window.
The Nerazzurri have made an offer for Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akcicek. However, Fenerbahce want at least €20 million, whilst Inter are reluctant to go above their €16 million offer.
Meanwhile, Inter also approached Rennes and Club Brugge about Jeremy Jacquet and Joel Ordonez respectively.
Jacquet would cost upwards of €50 million, and Ordonez at least €40 million.
According to Tuttosport, Inter are not planning to invest a high figure like that in a defender.
Rather, the Nerazzurri are aiming to sign a young player with the aim of improving them over the next couple years.
Yann Bisseck would be the blueprint in this sense. However, the disappointing signing of Tomas Palacios would act as a cautionary tale.
In any event, Tuttosport report, Inter will make a decision this coming week.
Tomorrow the Nerazzurri begin their Serie A campaign with a match against Torino. But from Tuesday on, they will focus on the transfer market, with the defense their focus.
