Report – Inter Milan Target Bayern Munich Star To Replace France International | OneFootball

Inter Milan are reportedly looking at Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano as a replacement if Benjamin Pavard leaves.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are still considering a defensive reshuffle before the transfer window ends.

And a lot of the Nerazzurri’s plans hinge on whether or not Benjamin Pavard stays at the club.

Inter would reportedly listen to offers over €20 million for the 29-year-old.

Saudi club Neom are keen. However, Pavard has not warmed up to that idea, as he prefers to stay in Europe.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray and Marseille are also targeting Pavard. Lille, however, have withdrawn their interest due to cost constraints.

Inter Targeting Dayot Upamecano As Pavard Replacement

If Pavard is to head for the exit door, then Inter will definitely sign a suitable replacement, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.

And in some ways, it wouldn’t get more like-for-like than signing another French international from Bayern Munich.

Dayot Upamecano is currently one year away from the expiry of his contract with Bayern.

Therefore, if the 26-year-old does not sign a new deal, then this would be the German champions’ last chance to cash in.

That is basically the same situation that Bayern were in with Pavard when Inter snapped him up in 2023.

According to the Gazzetta, therefore, Inter could make a similar move for Upamecano in the event that Pavard leaves in the last week of the transfer window.
