Chelsea are among the clubs to be told by Bayer Leverkusen they won’t be listening to offers for defender Piero Hincapie this summer according to reports.

The Blues have been busy this summer and have already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, with more new faces expected to follow.

Chelsea are currently working on deals for Dutch duo Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons, with negotiations for both players believed to be at the final stages.

The Blues are said also be in the market for a centre back, although it remains to be seen if they will move for one, especially given Hato can also play that position.

Chelsea have been linked with Marc Guehi earlier this summer, although it’s gone very quiet regarding a move for the Crystal Palace captain.

The Blues were keen on Dean Huijsen, but he opted to join Spanish giants Real Madrid, whilst Jarrad Branthwaite signed a new deal with Everton.

Chelsea are believed to have held previous interest in Hincapie, and TBR Football have reported the Blues are among the clubs to have been told by Leverkusen they aren’t listening to offers for the 23-year-old.

The report adds Liverpool and Tottenham were also told the same, and the Ecuadorian would only be available if his £52.5m release clause was met in full.

Hincapie can play at both centre back and left back, making him an attractive proposition, but it seems he will likely remain at Leverkusen.

Chelsea close to Jorrel Hato deal

Whilst there may have been interest in Hincapie, the Blues have made it clear their main target for left back is Hato.

A deal is thought to be close for Hato, and Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old, who wants the move.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer £44m, but Ajax are said to want £50m, although the expectation is an agreement will be reached.
