After a fantastic month in November, AC Milan’s star Tijjani Reijnders has deservingly been named AIC’s Footballer of the Month.
Months like November have been increasingly common for Reijnders this season and the Dutchman seems to be consistently evolving in a Milan shirt. His role has become solidified and as a result, we are only seeing the best of him now.
With three goals and an assist, Reijnders was given the award by the Italian Footballers’ Association over players like Moise Kean and Sead Kolasinac. Below, you can find the Association’s words, relayed by Milan News, about Reijnders’ fantastic month, alongside photos of the award.
“Reijnders’ November opened with a somewhat fortunate goal, as a wish for the month to come. At Monza, after a very long free-kick that took him all the way into the box, he saw the ball header from Morata and repelled by the opposing defender’s back end just over his head, at which point all he had to do was put it into the goal, with the goalkeeper already sitting on the ground.
“It was 2 November and Reijnders had not yet assumed the importance he has today in Milan: a player, that is, who by his mere presence changes the depth of the team, and the expectations of the Rossoneri fans about the game.

“One would not otherwise explain this AIC player of November award, won by a wide margin ahead of players who would also have deserved it: Moise Kean, Sead Kolasinac and Alessandro Buongiorno.
“Reijnders’ ballistic abilities were well known, but his coolness under goal and continuity in finding the net have little to do with technical sensitivity, that is, with the way he strikes the ball. In short, the poise it takes to pirouette on oneself and cross a ball at half height, feeling for the goal as Reijnders did in the 2-0 win over Empoli, is what real strikers have, but in short we know that the Dutchman is anything but a striker.
“Reijnders, in November alone, scored as many goals as he did in the league last season, when he scored 36. Some might say that a lucky month happens to everyone, but those who have seen him play know that this is not the case.”
