Paulo Fonseca is still in the process of making decisions about his team ahead of the Hellas Verona clash this weekend and it seems he could consider some AC Milan youngsters.
With Theo Hernandez’s form so far this season, a change has been needed at the back, but there has not been a clear answer on how to solve the issues. Filippo Terracciano has been trialled in the position, but Fonseca quickly returned to the Frenchman.
Last weekend though, the Portuguese opted to look to the Primavera after calling out some of his senior players and he finally made a decision to trial Alex Jimenez – a move that has been being called for by the fans for some time.
In a game with few positives, Jimenez shone and he looked very capable of being a deputy to Theo, like called for during the summer by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Reports today have suggested that Theo has been impressing in training this week, which would make a return to the squad possible, but not guaranteed. This afternoon though, news has come to light about the solution trialled in this morning’s training session.
As Sky (via Francesco Nasato) reports, the Spaniard was trialled at left-back in this morning’s training session, which suggests that he could be the one to start the game, which Fonseca did not deny in his pre-match press conference.
