Real Madrid have been working on the signing of Bayern Munich speedster Alphonso Davies for quite some time now.
The 24-year-old left-back had been on the Merengues’ radar this past summer as well, as he entered the final year of his contract.
However, a move did not materialise as the Spanish heavyweights decided to sign him for free in 2025.
While the foundation for a deal has been laid, Real Madrid are now set to face some roadblocks in their pursuit of the Canadian international.
Indeed, as reported by AS, Real Madrid are in a three-way battle with Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the transfer race for Alphonso Davies.

At one point, it appeared that the 24-year-old would certainly be leaving the Bundesliga behemoths.
But recent reports suggest that he is now willing to lower his previous demands of €10 million salary and €15 million signing bonus, which has opened the doors for his continued stay at the Allianz Arena.
Meanwhile, Barcelona also have Davies on their agenda for the summer and are prepared to utilise the player’s relationship with Hansi Flick to gain advantage in the race.
As such, Real Madrid will need to up the ante in their efforts to sign the Canadian speedster with competition for his services significantly growing.
At just 24 years old, Davies is one of the most sought-after full-backs at the moment, with clubs such as Manchester United also keeping a close eye on the situation.
The final decision regarding his future, however, is expected to be made soon, bringing an end to the ongoing speculation surrounding the next phase of his career.
