Although the winter transfer market has been closed in Europe for some weeks now, FC Barcelona are still involved in a market operation that can materialize in the coming few days.
This operation involves the striker Vitor Roque, who is currently playing on loan at Real Betis. The Brazilian club Palmeiras is interested in signing him in the remaining days of the transfer window, which does not close in Brazil till 28th February.
However, this is going to be quite a complicated operation for all the involved sides, as Barcelona, Palmeiras, Real Betis, and Vitor Roque himself will all have to come to an agreement to make this transfer happen.
Things are further complicated as Palmeiras do not want to pay anything extra to Real Betis and want the Blaugranes to deal with the Verdiblancos.
Meanwhile, the Andalusians themselves are not looking to give away a player, whom they got for a full season with the option to purchase or extend his loan stay for another season, for free in the middle of the season.
In such a context, there were previous reports that the Catalans have already notified Real Betis about an incoming offer from the Brazilian club for the young striker.
Now, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Sporting Director of the Seville club, Manu Fajardo, has also confirmed contacts with Barcelona in this regard, as he commented recently to the media:
“Yesterday, there was a call from FC Barcelona. There is an extraordinary relationship between both clubs, and as of today, nothing indicates otherwise.”
Fajardo also took this opportunity to praise Roque for his ability and professionalism:
“Yes, he is a player who has shown, when given the opportunity, that he can perform at a very high level, with an immediate impact and a very promising future ahead. Hopefully, he can stay with us. The boy doesn’t say much; he is very professional and very honest.”
There are only a few days left till the market closes in Brazil, and thus, it remains to be seen whether this operation will be completed in February or left till June.
