Arnau Ténas decided to leave FC Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain last summer, signing a three-year contract with the French giants.

The young player received sporadic playing time behind Gianluigi Donnarumma, but joining the capital club wasn’t a mistake he says. Moreover, Ténas had a standout contest this past Ligue 1 campaign that put him on people’s radar.

Last December, the 23-year-old made an unexpected Ligue 1 debut against Le Havre. Despite not preparing as a starter, Ténas made a strong impression coming off the bench.

He recorded seven saves for PSG, secured a clean sheet, and effectively thwarted Le Havre’s attempts in a 2-0 victory. Ténas made six appearances for PSG and was named to Spain’s squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Furthermore, the player recently spoke about his decision to join the capital, and he does not regret it.

“I am very happy after my first year at PSG,” Ténas said. “Whenever I’m asked I always say the same thing. I didn’t expect it to be so good and comfortable. I would define this year as a flawless year. When the Olympics are over, I will stay at PSG; that’s the plan.”

Ténas will have to fight to be the No. 2 goalkeeper or perhaps go out on loan to garner playing time, as PSG signed Matvey Safonov to a five-year contract this summer.
