Prolific second-tier striker steps up: Youssef El Kachati signs for NEC Nijmegen | OneFootball

NEC Nijmegen have announced the signing of Youssef El Kachati. The prolific 25-year-old striker signs after leaving Telstar on a free transfer.

El Kachati was instrumental in the White Lions getting promoted to the Eredivisie via the Keuken Kampioen play-offs, scoring 19 goals in 37 league games. In the play-offs themselves, the Dutch-born Moroccan notched a further five in six matches.

The forward previously plied his trade with Jong Sparta Rotterdam, VV Noordwijk and Quick Boys, and joins NEC in something of a transfer coup.

Director of player affairs Carlos Aalbers said on the club website:

“We showed our interest in Youssef well before the play-offs and had an initial conversation. With his great contribution in the last matches for Telstar, he definitely put himself on the map and the interest in him became enormous. We are happy that we were able to bring him to NEC after all. We think that we are bringing in a player who is very goal-oriented and who will also appeal to the supporters with his work.”
