Patrik Schick’s preferred destination is the Premier League if the forward leaves Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Leverkusen are working on a deal to extend the Czech Republic international’s contract, but negotiations are yet to find a breakthrough. Schick has enjoyed a stunning season with the German champions with 23 goals in all competitions despite limited involvement.
Only Harry Kane has netted more than his 17 goals in the Bundesliga, despite the 29-year-old starting just 13 league games for Xabi Alonso’s side. He has averaged a Bundesliga goal every 68 minutes for the German champions this season.
Schick continued his good form with two goals as the Czech Republic began their World Cup qualification campaign with a 2-1 win over the Faroe Islands on Saturday.
Sky Germany are reporting that Leverkusen want to extend his deal, that will have two years left to run this summer. Should an extension not be agreed, Schick will explore a potential move to the Premier League. He is valued at around €30m (£25.2m) at the BayArena.
Several Premier League clubs are in the market for a centre-forward this summer. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all considering their options, while both Newcastle and Liverpool could also enter the market for reinforcements.
Schick has scored 77 goals in 159 games since joining Leverkusen from Roma in 2020.
