It is time to hand out our awards from matchday four.

This weekend, for the fourth time, a team won a Premier League game 9-0. Hats off to Liverpool!

The Coming For Shearer Award

Harry Kane bagged a brace at Nottingham Forest to take him to level with Andrew Cole in the all-time Premier League scorers chart. Slowly but surely closing in on Alan Shearer.

The Take a Bow award

Alan Saint-Maximin hadn’t scored since January 2022, but he picked his time perfectly coming up with a delicious volley to salvage a point for Newcaslte.

The Tall Enough award

Much was made of Lisandro Martínez’s ability to compete in the air, especially after Brentford. Critics aren’t as loud recently though.

The Away Day Hoodoo award

Sticking with Man Utd, hats off to their faithful supporters who kept travelling across the country during that run. The Erik ten Hag era is here.

The Portuguese Connection award

Rúben Neves opened the scoring in typical fashion as the assist by Gonçalo Guedes marked to continuing Portuguese influence in Wolverhampton.

The Hero Origin Story Award

Any good superhero movie shows a fall before a rise, and Gabriel’s efforts against Fulham stuck to the Marvel-like script.

The No-Look Award

You just know Roberto Firmino is feeling his football when he pulls out the ‘no-look finish’. That was rude Bobby, rude.

The Golden Generation Award

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick (the seventh different competitions he’s scored one in) whilst in London, Martin Ødegaard was leading the comeback. What a pair.
