Milan Futuro clinched three heavy points as they prevailed 2-0 against Perugia on Sunday. Kevin Zeroli was the big hero with a fantastic bicycle kick, leading the Rossoneri after a tough last few weeks.

Milan and Daniele Bonera headed into the game with a lot of pressure on their shoulders, having dropped to the bottom of the standings in the previous round. Furthermore, players such as Hugo Cuenca, Chaka Traore, Andrea Bozzolan (all injuries) and Francesco Camarda (with first team) were missing.

Fortunately for Bonera, Milan got off to a great start as Gabriele Alesi found the back of the net from a free-kick in the 18th minute. He got a bit lucky with the effort as it took a wicked deflection, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance, but it’s the goal that matters.

About ten minutes later, following a loose rebound in the penalty box, captain Kevin Zeroli tried his luck with a bicycle kick and pulled it off! It was indeed a wonderful goal from the midfielder and it allowed the Futuro to breathe a little, playing with more confidence than before.

Noah Raveyre, the Futuro goalkeeper, made two very good stops and allowed Milan to head into the break with a rather comfortable lead. Indeed, the Perugia enthusiasm seemed to die a bit at the start of the second half as Bonera’s boys were able to keep their two-goal lead intact.

In fact, in the 58th minute, it was Milan who came closest to scoring the next goal as Mbarick Fall was denied one by the offside flag. It was certainly a close call, so he will feel a bit hard done by there. Mattia Liberali, by the way, did very well to set up the chance.

Another great chance came Milan’s way as the substitute Bob Murphy Omoregbe was denied by the keeper, not making the most of what was a good opportunity to kill the game.

These missed chances didn’t mean much in the end as Milan were able to hold onto the lead (also thanks to Raveyre) and clinch three crucial points. They have now jumped up to 16th place with 9 points, and they also have a game in hand compared to the others.
