Brighton forward Joao Pedro is “appreciated” and “highly rated” by Chelsea according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich for £30m, but are looking to bring more new faces through the door at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are in the market for a versatile attacker, left winger and centre back to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of the new season.
A striker was the main priority this summer and Chelsea moved quickly to sign Delap, but attention now turns to signing a versatile forward.
With Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix both set to leave, the Blues need to sign a replacement and have been linked with Hugo Ekitike and Mohammed Kudus.
Chelsea were linked with Pedro earlier this summer, but links with the Brazilian had gone quiet for a number of weeks.

However, it’s been reported a move for Pedro is being considered, and Romano has provided an update on the situation.
“Joao Pedro is on the Chelsea list and is appreciated and highly rated by them,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“They see him as an interesting option because he can cover multiple positions with big potential. He knows the league, a perfect addition to the squad.

“Nothing advanced yet and no negotiations, but on the list in the offensive positions at Chelsea. It’s something they are considering.”
Chelsea face competition from Newcastle for the 23-year-old who scored ten Premier League goals last season, and Brighton are thought to want around £60m for the Brazil international.
West Ham star Kudus is another name on Chelsea’s radar and the Blues were linked with the Ghana international back in 2023 when he was still at Ajax.
Chelsea are believed to have been offered the chance to sign the 24-year-old, and it’s been reported they’ve held further talks over signing Kudus.
The Hammers struggled last season and Kudus didn’t have the best campaign as he managed just five goals and four assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.
