According to a report from Fichajes, it has come to light that Pep Guardiola has informed Manchester City’s board that he wants Eduardo Camavinga at the Etihad ‘as soon as possible’.
The information suggests that Guardiola sees the Real Madrid midfielder as a top priority this summer.
City’s midfield is going through a period of transition. The departure of Kevin De Bruyne and the possible exit of Bernardo Silva, who has been offered to Real Madrid, have left gaps that need urgent filling.
For Guardiola, Camavinga’s arrival is the ideal solution. His dynamic style, physicality, and tactical versatility are exactly what the Catalan coach believes is required to modernise City’s midfield for the next cycle.
Guardiola has been following Camavinga’s progress closely since his breakthrough at Rennes, and his admiration for the French international has never been a secret.
Now that City are reshaping their squad, Guardiola wants Camavinga to be the centrepiece of his new project.

However, Real Madrid have no plans to let Camavinga leave even though Alonso is unaware of the player’s best position.
Madrid consider Camavinga a key figure in their midfield rotation, alongside players like Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.
Even so, Madrid are a club that listens to big offers. If City were to present a bid that significantly exceeds Camavinga’s current market value, the Spanish giants might at least entertain discussions.
For now, though, the official stance is clear that Camavinga is not for sale.
Manchester City, on the other hand, are prepared to push the limits financially to try and make this deal happen.
Guardiola is convinced that Camavinga can become a midfield leader at City for years to come, and the club is ready to back him with a multi-million-euro offer.
The next few weeks will reveal whether City’s determination is enough to crack Madrid’s resistance. One thing is certain: Guardiola won’t give up easily in his pursuit of the young French star.
