Jude Bellingham's red card summed up a frustrating afternoon for Real Madrid as they were held to a 1-1 draw with Osasuna.
Madrid should have been ahead just three minutes into the game. Kylian Mbappe found some space and dinked a cross over to Vinicius Junior, but the Brazilian managed to miss his header from two yards out.
Deciding to do the work himself, Mbappe opened the scoring after 15 minutes. Some great work from Federico Valverde saw the ball cut back across the box, and the superstar striker made no mistake from close range.
It looked like setting up a routine win for Madrid, but the tone of the game soon changed. Manager Carlo Ancelotti was booked for something he said to the referee, who issued a straight red card to Bellingham five minutes before the interval for protesting a decision.
Unsurprisingly, that turned the tide of the game. Thibaut Courtois pulled off a stunning save to deny Jon Moncayola shortly after the restart but was powerless to deny Ante Budimir from the penalty spot shortly before the hour mark after Eduardo Camavinga fouled the Osasuna striker.
Vinicius was lively in the dying embers but Madrid simply could not find a way through as they were forced to accept a solitary point.
