AC Milan may have turned around their future on Friday with a 4-0 win against Udinese, and Franco Ordine has commented on the situation.
On the face of it, four goals and a clean sheet is the starkest showing of improvement that is possible. However, it can not be the case for Milan. Instead, it must be the start of something, rather than an anomaly; only then will it become an improvement.
For now, it is a massively positive result, which can act as a reminder of the quality within this squad, and on a deeper level, certain individuals.
Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao and Sergio Conceicao, you can argue, were the three big positives in this game, as each massively impacted what the game may have been.
Today, speaking to Corriere dello Sport, Ordine offered his view on the game, and Milan News have relayed his opinion of Friday’s win and what it may mean moving forward.
“‘Change does not always mean improvement, but to improve, you have to change.’ Sergio Conceiçao may have never read Winston Churchill’s quote, but he must have thought about it for a long time. Especially after the last two matches, the one in Naples and the following one against Fiorentina, both “stained” by an almost lightning-fast goal and a half, usually the first – played in difficulty and without a footballing compass.

“The advantages of this choice, for now, are clear for all to see. The most obvious are in avoiding dancing the rumba and the cha-cha-cha in front of the gusts of Udinese, who certainly do not have a lethal attack and instead drag behind them a series of defeats that is starting to become worrying.
“In short, there are signs of greater overall balance that does not take away even a crumb of the offensive power of this team that, when it has space, when it has the possibility to unleash the talent of Leao and Theo Hernandez, can even run riot as happened last night in Udine with its best protagonists, including Reijnders, guilty of having missed a goal scored even at the dawn of the match, after 20 seconds even.”
