Major developments on the contract front have on Tuesday been confirmed at La Liga giants Barcelona.
The first comes in the form of long-awaited confirmation that youngster Lamine Yamal has put pen to paper on his new long-term deal with the club.
Lamine has committed to Barcelona all the way through the summer of 2031, set to continue building for himself a reputation as world football’s standout up-and-coming talent on the book of the Blaugrana.
As per a statement across the Spanish champions’ website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona and Lamine Yamal have reached an agreement to renew his contract, which will keep him with the Club until June 30, 2031.
‘The player signed his new contract this Tuesday at the club’s offices in a ceremony with FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta; First Vice President Rafa Yuste; and the club’s sporting director, Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco,” among others.’
And the positive news for those of a Barca persuasion only looks set to continue to flow over the days ahead.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, primed to follow Lamine’s lead by signing a new contract at the Camp Nou imminently is Wojciech Szczęsny:
‘Wojciech Szczesny, on the verge of signing new deal at Barcelona as part of club’s plan since March.’
