France international right-back Jules Koundé (26) has extended his contract with FC Barcelona, the Liga champions have announced. The Girondins de Bordeaux Academy product is now tied with the Blaugranes until 2030. Koundé has established himself as a vital cog for Barcelona since his €50m switch from Spanish rivals Sevilla three years ago. The 42-time France international has won La Liga twice with Barcelona (2023, 2025).
Koundé notably endeared himself to the Barcelona faithful after scoring an extra-time winner against Real Madrid in the 2025 Copa del Rey final. The 26-year-old versatile defender featured 141 times for Barcelona, including 86 consecutive appearances from November 25, 2023, to April 19, 2025. La Liga champions Barcelona will start their title defense this Saturday against Mallorca.
