Official: Barcelona announce youngster’s contract termination | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday announced a contract termination in the club’s youth ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that Antonio Martín will depart Catalunya’s capital with immediate effect.

For those not familiar with his name, Martín is a 19-year-old attacker, who has been on Barcelona’s books since joining from Málaga all the way back in 2018.

The Spaniard arrived amid lofty expectations, tipped as a potential first-team star in the making.

Unfortunately for Barcelona and Martín alike, however, such hopes were ultimately dashed by a series of recent injury problems.

Over the last couple of years alone, the youngster suffered a pair of serious knee injuries.

The call, in turn, has this week been made to cut Martín’s Blaugrana terms short, ahead of the expiration of his contract in the summer.

As per a statement across social media on Wednesday afternoon:

‘FC Barcelona and Antonio Martín have reached an agreement to release the player, which puts an end to seven seasons in the Club’s youth system. Good luck, Antonio!’
