Newcastle United are making progress in talks to sign defenders Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo on free transfers this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The Magpies are pushing forward with their priority of revamping their defensive options this summer.

Kelly and Adarabioyo are available on free transfers after they informed Bournemouth and Fulham respectively they will not be signing new deals with the clubs.

Newcastle are wary about more clubs getting involved for Kelly and Manchester United have not ended their interest in Adarabioyo.

However, the north east club are pushing forward with their attempts to sign both defenders.

Newcastle have deepened talks with representatives of both the centre-backs and are making good progress in their pursuit of finalising their arrivals at St. James’ Park.

The club believe that they are now edging closer to working out agreements with Kelly and Adarabioyo.

With the Premier League’s PSR regulations curtailing their spending power, Newcastle are desperate to get these two free transfers over the line soon.
