Millwall have had their £4.3m deal for striker Jusef Erabi hijacked by KRC Genk.

Millwall have been dealt a significant setback on deadline day, as their deal to bring Jusef Erabi to The Den has now been hijacked by Belgian Pro League side Genk.

All football fans know how crazy deadline day can be, and we've seen many times before how quickly a deal that looks all but done can have a complete U-turn, and fall throught.

Sadly for Millwall supporters, that looks to have been the case with one of their potential new signings, who is now set for a move to Belgian side Genk, having been in London to join the Championship side for a reported fee of £4.3m.

That's according to Ryan Taylor of The Mirror, who has reported that a late flurry of outgoings at Genk has seen them offer improved terms to the Millwall-bound striker, which made him have a late change of heart.

The forward is now expected to complete a transfer from Hammarby to Blauw-Wit on Monday, as Alex Neil's side will continue their search for a new striker ahead of the 7pm deadline.

Despite spending big this window on the likes of Josh Coburn, the Lions haven't scored in 180 minutes of football at home this season, which culminated in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Wrexham on Saturday.

There is certainly concern from the supporters about the lack of goals, and it looked like those prayers were going to be answered when it was revealed that Millwall had agreed a £4.3m deal to sign Erabi from Hammarby, with the striker travelling to London for a medical.

However, that deal is now off, according to the latest update by The Mirror, as Belgian side Genk have offered the forward improved terms after agreeing the sales of Tolu Arokodare and Oh Hyeon-gyu to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stuttgart respectively.

It's clear that the East London club need to add some firepower to their ranks before 7pm on Monday, and the late nature of this U-turn will come as a big blow to their hopes of doing so.

However, with money to spend and plenty of time remaining, Millwall must try and secure an alternative option if they wish to solve their lack of goalscoring output.

It's hard to find prolific strikers available though, particularly on deadline day, as prices will be hugely inflated. Supporters must now hope that the recruitment team had someone else lined up just in case the deal to sign Erabi fell through, which it has.
