Aberdeen are said to be interested in both Kevin Nisbet, of Millwall, and Makhtar Gueye, of Blackburn Rovers.

The transfer deadline for this summer’s window is now fast approaching, and there could be some chaotic last minute business involving both Blackburn Rovers and Millwall, as Aberdeen chase a striker from each Championship outfit.

Blackburn have experienced a very busy summer transfer window already, but it may not be done and dusted yet with just hours to go in the transfer window.

Valerien Ismael’s Lancastrians have started the season slowly and he is under pressure at Ewood Park, having missed out on the top six and the play-off places on the final day of last season.

Millwall have started their season with two victories on the road and two defeats at The Den, as Alex Neil’s Londoners seek to once again challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

With not long remaining of the 2025 summer transfer window, it could well be that there are yet more twists to come as Aberdeen pursue strikers from either side.

According to Sky Sports, Aberdeen are already in talks with Millwall over the re-signing of Scotland international striker Kevin Nisbet ahead of this evening’s deadline.

It has, though, been reported that the two clubs are yet to agree a deal, with Aberdeen keen on bringing Nisbet in for their UEFA Europa Conference League campaign after he enjoyed a successful loan stint at Pittodrie last season.

However, that deal could well be affected by the Dandies’ surprise move for Blackburn Rovers striker Makhtar Gueye, which has been reported by Alan Nixon, via his Patreon.

Nixon has suggested that Aberdeen - under the management of Jimmy Thelin - have made a loan offer to Blackburn, trying to take advantage of Gueye largely being a substitute so far this season.

The arrival of Andri Gudjohnsen at Ewood Park could see Gueye slip further down the pecking order under Valerien Ismael, and a deal could be there to be done for the Senegalese hit-man.

It is not known as to whether Aberdeen want both, or just one or the other. The deadline in Scotland is later than the 7pm deadline in England, with incoming business allowed until 11pm.

Kevin Nisbet joined Millwall from Hibernian in the summer of 2023, but he has scored just five goals in 28 Championship appearances for the Lions in that time, spending last season on loan at Aberdeen where he won the Scottish Cup.

Nisbet, who has 11 caps for Scotland, has a fair bit of competition in the first-team squad at Millwall, with the likes of Mihailo Ivanovic, Josh Coburn and Macaulay Langstaff on the books, and he doesn't appear to be in Alex Neil's plans.

When it comes to Gueye, Blackburn boss Valerien Ismael is known for an extreme and direct style of football that requires a certain type of player, and despite the striker being a physical presence up top, the French coach has not fancied him for whatever reason.

Gueye arrived in England last summer, joining Blackburn from Belgian outfit RWD Molenbeek, but he scored just six Championship goals in total last season - more was perhaps expected out of him.
