Milan are tending to the negotiations to renew the contracts of four linchpins and are confident they’ll be successful in each of them, with different timing. The most advanced one concerns Matteo Gabbia, who should double his wages from €1M to €2M, inking a deal until 2029, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The other priority talks involve Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez, whose expiration dates fall in 2026. The goalkeeper is comfortable in San Siro and never considered leaving despite some offers. The Rossoneri aim to come to terms with him before the end of the season, avoiding the risk of having to sell him for a bargain price or, even worse, lose him for nothing.

His demands aren’t excessive and could be met. He could jump from €3.2M annual wages to €5M, tacking on three years. The Milan officials think it’s a matter of time, but there’s some work to be done on the figures and bonuses.

The Rossoneri are mending fences with the entourage of Theo Hernandez, which asked for €8M in the previous round of talks, more than their internal cap. They met his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon during their recent trip to Madrid. The parties are on the same page about continuing together. The gap between the offer and the request is still there, but there’s more optimism than in the past.

Milan aim to re-up with Tijjani Reijnders as well, who has earned a pay rise, but he’s under contract until 2030 already, so there’s less urgency. Things would accelerate if the outside interest became louder. Instead, the club is leaning toward letting Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi go at the end of the season.
