Multiple reports in Italy claim Milan and Stefano Pioli have agreed to a contract termination so the coach won’t be officially sacked by the club.

Calciomercato.com and Milannews confirm Pioli will leave Milan at the end of the season, but the Rossoneri won’t formally sack the Parma-born coach because the two parties have agreed on a contract termination.

Pioli had a year left in his deal at San Siro, and Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo confirms the coach has agreed to severance pay to terminate his contract one year before its expiration.

This also means that Pioli will be free to sign with any other club.

The 2021-22 Serie A title-winning coach has been linked with Bologna, Napoli and Atalanta.

Pioli will bid farewell to Milan fans on Saturday in the last game of the season against Salernitana at San Siro.

The Italian tactician was hired by the Serie A giants in October 2019 and won 132 games from 239.
