Marcus Thuram (26) has thanked his compatriot Thierry Henry after winning the Scudetto with Internazionale Milan last night.
It was a special game for Thuram as Inter Milan defeated their cross-stadium rivals in a fiery 2-1 victory which allowed them to clinch their 20th league title. The French striker who moved to the club last summer from Borussia Mönchengladbach has made an immediate impact on the Italian club having scored 14 and assisted 12 times this season.
He was once again pivotal for the team as he scored the winner against AC Milan to break the deadlock and to make certain that the title celebrations would be in front of their fierce rivals. And it was in these celebrations, that Thuram was keen to acknowledge the role Henry has had in his life and the advice that he’s been provided by the former player.
Speaking to CBS Sports, Thuram stated, “I’d like to thank Thierry Henry for all the advice he’s given me, and I hope that this is only the start.” The striker confirmed that he spoke to Henry more than his father (Lilian Thuram; a former teammate of Henry’s) “He’s like my best uncle. He’s the uncle that’s there for me that’s there in good moments and bad moments. He always tells me the truth, and today I’d like to take the time to thank him, that if I’m here it’s because of him.”
