Following the end of Donny van de Beek’s Eintracht Frankfurt loan spell, the Netherlands striker is set to start pre-season training at Manchester United next week.

Every man and his dog knows Van de Beek is set to leave United this summer. The club will hope to make some money off his sale, but that will depend on which clubs are interested in signing him.

The Manchester Evening News claims United are actively trying to sell Van de Beek.

Van de Beek has been a United player for four years. He has not been able to cement a place in the team during that time and he performed poorly on loan in Germany last season.

After joining Frankfurt in January, Van de Beek started just four games and the Bundesliga outfit decided against taking up the option to buy him for £9.5m.

Who wants Donny?

The former Ajax midfielder will report for pre-season training at Carrington on Monday, but the club plans to move him on during this window.

With just one year left on his contract, Van de Beek will be available on the cheap, even though he cost United £35m in August 2020. United need to push for a permanent sale, but his wages will be problematic for potential suitors.

United should be in the market for a new midfielder or two this summer, which would only result in Van de Beek slipping further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
