Left-back has been a constant problem position for Manchester United with manager Erik ten Hag starting a specialist in that position less than 40 percent of the time this season.

Tyrell Malacia has ended up missing the full season while Luke Shaw has been sidelined for 36 games. Even loan signing Sergio Reguilon started only seven games before his short-term deal was terminated.

Centre-back Victor Lindelof and defensive midfielder Sofyan Amrabat have had to deputise in that position, and safe to say, that ploy backfired as expected.

For the last couple of months, the Dutch manager has alternated between right-backs Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in that position.

LB has been a problem position for United

It is clear that the Englishman cannot be trusted to remain fit for one full season while the club is contemplating moving the Dutch full-back on. A new left-back has become somewhat of a priority at this stage.

But with funds tight and multiple areas in need or urgent reinforcements, the Red Devils might not have too much money to work with to fix this gaping hole.

HITC Football have thrown an intriguing name into the mix, Juan Miranda of Real Betis, and his deal at the club ends this June, which makes him an even more interesting proposition.

“HITC has previously revealed that Nice’s Marvin Bard has been watched, whilst we understand that Bradley Locko, Rayat Ait-Nouri and Juan Miranda have also been checked on in recent months.”

United eyeing free agent Miranda

The former Barcelona star has played more than a century of games for the club during his four-year stay and helped them win the Copa del Rey in the 21/22 season, their first top-flight trophy in 16 years.

This season, the Spaniard played 31 games across all competitions, registering two goals and as many assists and his former club still retain an interest while AC Milan were also close to a deal earlier this season.

In England, both Crystal Palace and West Ham have also been linked with a move and a Bosman deal for the Spanish international would not be the worst of moves, considering his exploits.

A former La Masia product, the full-back had once earned praise from the legendary Lionel Messi, and coupled with his age and potential, Miranda’s future is one to keep a close eye on.
